Before setting up his own practice in 2017, Tom Wilson was an associate at Haworth Tompkins, having joined in 2004. During that time, Tom worked on a number of critically acclaimed projects.
The Deck - National Theatre, London

The Deck is a lightweight timber framed entertainment pavilion that takes its place on the concrete terraces of the National Theatre. The building’s form responds to the planar geometries of the existing listed building.

The building includes a 360 seat auditorium, a fully glazed foyer space that incorporates a large day lit rehearsal room and an exhibition space. Full back of house facilities include dressing rooms, a workshop and ancillary spaces along with a suite of 5 new classics classrooms.
NT Future - National Theatre, London

The project developed over a number of years in close collaboration with the client, English Heritage and the Twentieth Century Society amongst others. The resulting transformations engage the NT more closely with the river walk and the surrounding neighbourhood, regenerate the main entrance and foyers, remodel the studio theatre, and provide new and enhanced workshop and production facilities.
Dovecot Studio - Snape Maltings

The Dovecote studio inhabits the ruins of a dovecote overlooking the marshes. The new form expresses the internal volume of the Victorian structure as a weathering steel ‘lining’ that was prefabricated and craned into position.
Aldeburgh Music - Snape Maltings

This project was part of a phased development of grade 2 listed maltings buildings at the edge of the Suffolk marshes. The centrepiece is a new build orchestral studio equipped with retractable seating units. The room is used for both orchestral rehearsals and public performance.
